ScoutTN
did you use the big set or the concise one, and why? Is one better than the other? Thanks! Making wish lists on Amazon for next year's books.
Omma
We are currently using the 11-volume set as part of Sonlight Core 100 this year and we're loving it! I've read books 1-5 so far and highly recommend this series. We are also using the discussion questions that SL provides in their guide, plus Hewitt and Oxford tests. Couldn't tell you about the 'concise' one as I've never heard of it. Brenda
jjeepa
We're using the bigger set too because dd wanted all the details :001_smile: I read several reviews of both and decided to go with the bigger set because my dd likes history and the vast amount of information available appealed to her. We are also using the Hewitt syllabus and Oxford tests, and dd is doing a good deal of supplemental reading. I have really enjoyed reading the Hakim books with her. It's been our favorite year of history so far!
Momto6inIN
We have the concise version and love it! I haven't seen/read the 11 book set, but the amount of reading it would take to get through all of them in 1 year is ... just not doable for us, and not something my kids would do happily, no matter how well written they are. Just my 2 cents! 🙂 Sent from my Z988 using Tapatalk
FawnsFunnyFarm
We love the 11 volume set. I bought it before the concise edition came out, but would still go with the full version. Like the above poster, I wouldn't want to miss any details and we love all the pictures and snippets that are in the sidebars, I have read that the concise edition eliminates those.
