Pen
I got an ad for it, and usually like to toss such ads to not encourage them, but it looked like it could be good perhaps. ????
MomatHWTK
If this is the magazine at Sciencemag.org you can get a pretty good idea of the content by looking at the online stuff. About 30% of the mag resembles the online articles, the rest is real published studies that make no sense at all to me but are very useful to scientists I'm sure. ;) My oldest loves reading the articles on the website so I got him a student subscription. We'll go to internet only when I renew because the weekly makes for lot of waste- I haven't found the time to collect and donate the old copies.
Tsuga
I love it. It really expands my interest in science. I think it would be great for a science-interested teen.

Reefgazer
It's a professional, peer reviewed journal for science. I think it would be of limited use for anyone below honors high school level, because it can get very detailed and technical.
Pen
I don't think that is the one that the ad was about. The one the ad was about seemed to be for a science magazine geared to middle to high school. Possibly the official name is Science News rather than Science Magazine... I cannot find anything about it online. According the ad it is usually used in schools, but I don't know anyone who has heard of it.
Reefgazer
Oh, yes, Science News is an excellent general science magazine for the elementary set. It's more of a small newspaper than a magazine, but as I recall, it was very well put together and informative. I saw that he publisher was AAAS and figured it was the journal Science, but AAAS must also publish Science News. I don't think that is the one that the ad was about.
