Tess in the Burbs
How sad are we??? I am on round 2 for bronchitis, ds has ear infection, dd has throat nastiness/tonsillitis, and dh has double ear infection and the throat thing. Should I call my mom and tell her not to come? We are on medicine, but what are the odds she will get sick being in our home???
TammyinTN
I woud tell my mom not to come just now. I would want to be off antibiotics and have cleaned the house within an inch of it's life...so to speak. ;) My mother however has immune problems..so this might not apply to you. Hugs and hope you all will be feeling better soon!
catz
When is she supposed to come? If you've all been on antibiotics for 24+ hours and feel good enough, I'd let her come. If you are not sure if this round of antibiotics is going to work for you and you're still feeling ill, I might ask her to hold off.
LMA
I would tell her not to come until everyone is better. I know I have been visiting people who have been on antibiotics and are not contagious, but it's no fun visiting with people who don't feel well plus you can still catch stuff from the surfaces in the house. I would wait until everyone feels better and I would air out the house and wipe down all the surfaces.
fairfarmhand
Besides the risk of her getting sick, personally I don't want company when I feel bad.
Tess in the Burbs
So I called and mentioned the following weekend or even one in January. And while she doesn't want to get sick, she doesn't want to go to one side of the family and us different weekends. She plans on doing both in one week. Ugh. At least I have an excuse to just point to the fridge for food. I am not cooking a meal or baking this year. I wouldn't go visit sick people. But my mom apparently would. :glare:
