MomofSeven
My husband and I looked at an above ground rectangular pool last night. It's really nice, clean and well-kept, but it's 25 years old. I have no idea what the typical life of a pool is, especially considering it's a steel frame. Would you consider buying this? It's not expensive, but we'd have to demantle it and move it to our property - just a few miles.
JFSinIL
That sounds way beyond the usual life span of a pool. You can call a local pool store and ask how long pools last - even the best ones do not last that long!
TraceyS/FL
I would not expect much of it to make the move at all. HOw old is the liner? If it is the original one, expect it to NOT make it being drained and moved. Depending on how it is attached at the top - you might not get another install out of it... THis is something i'd not pay for, more of "we will try to move it and see how it goes".
Tap
I would be concerned also about the metal connections not coming apart after that many years. I too would want a 'move it and see how it goes warranty' before you pay for it.
Kim in TN
You will definitely need to buy a new liner. You would have to do that with any used pool. You might also have to buy new track if they are rusted out. Is the pool a name brand? It makes it a lot easier to buy new parts.
