SquirrellyMama
I went to a friend's house and they had a world map on the table under glass. I don't have a big sheet of glass to put on our table. What else can I use? I like the idea of having the map on the table all the time like that. I also don't have a lot of wall space that is why I like the table idea. Sew happily ever after
Plexiglass would be a less expensive idea, but it would scratch easily. What about laminating your map? Depending on size it could cost a little bit of money, but it would be protected while on your table.
Jen500
We have some placemats with world and U.S. maps. We got ours from RR.
Debbie in OR
Get heavy, clear plastic and make it like a table cloth. You can get it at a fabric store (but make sure it is heavy-weight).
FloridaLisa
Another idea is to put a US map or world map in the bathroom. It's amazing how much it will be studied through the years. ;) Lisa
motherdear
We have the game called Take Off. This game has a huge laminated mapof the world. It is very long and has airplane routes flying from Hawaii in the East around the world and back to Hawaii. Storing the game requires rolling it up. This makes it very difficult game to play as you're always fighting with the map curling up. This is what we did: We spread the map on the table and secured it with a couple of pieces of tape. Then, we measured the length of the table and got a piece of heavy duty plastic at Wal-Mart to cover it with. We used packing tape to secure it under the table. Now it is useful for school, referring to when reading the newspaper, and of course for playing the game! Everyone loves it!
