AuntieM
The package doesn't say anything other than "sugar" under the ingredients. Google searches have not helped (I've not found anything, anyway). Just wondering if any of you have an answer. DH (the baker) has just discovered this makes a difference in some recipes and wants to know if his favorite discount store can still be a sugar source! Alison in KY
I think it's beet, just because since a friend shared with me that there was a difference I've been buying the name brand. There's a slightly different taste to it.
TraceyS/FL
Most sugar when i've paid attention says, "Pure Cane Sugar" in the name somehow. In fact, since i started trying to notice (because someone on here posted they were allergic to one of them) i have only SEE cane sugar. I would guess if it didn't say, it was beet. klmama
Is there an address on the package? I remember checking on the same thing once, and whatever company it was told me that it varied, depending on which was cheaper at the time. Usually, though, beet was cheaper. They were able to tell me based on the lot number, though.
AuntieM
Thanks, I'll look for an address on the label next time I'm there. I'm suspecting beet, though, due to the price.
Dobela
Aldi's has a website with a way to contact them thru it. I used their email message system a year ago to ask some questions and had a reply in a few days.
