Aldi's sugar - beet or cane? Anyone know for sure?

Recommended Posts

The package doesn't say anything other than "sugar" under the ingredients. Google searches have not helped (I've not found anything, anyway).

Just wondering if any of you have an answer. DH (the baker) has just discovered this makes a difference in some recipes and wants to know if his favorite discount store can still be a sugar source!

Is there an address on the package? I remember checking on the same thing once, and whatever company it was told me that it varied, depending on which was cheaper at the time. Usually, though, beet was cheaper. They were able to tell me based on the lot number, though.
