Tree House Academy
Not trying to discuss the stimulus AT ALL. I just can't seem to find out when it takes effect. My friend's dh had the adjustment on his check this week, and so did my ex husband...however, my dh did not. :( And please please please please please please please do not discuss the actual stimulus at all - I definitely don't want this to be a political thread...just an informational one. 5sweeties
We saw a change of about 25 dollars per paycheck on Fedral withholdings, as of dh's March checks. I didn't realize that, until I saw your post, and looked it up! Thanks!
Country Mouse
Sorry for my ignorance but is everyone who receives a pay check eligible for a credit? Will it show up as a line item or is it hidden?
Mommyof4ks
DH got an adjustment on his March checks. It was just added into his regular check, not a line item or anything. Has dh contact his employer? I think there was an income limit on that also, so maybe that is why?
Tree House Academy
There was an income limit, but we are below it by quite a bit (I think it was $250K for couples!). He refuses to ask his employer. GRRR.
Kari C in SC
My dh hasn't got it, but I am just assuming his boss doesn't know to adjust the tax withholding. His boss is not the brightest accounting guy on the block. While I could really use the extra $100 right now - I will be just as happy to get an extra lump sum back when we do our taxes next year. I am probably way more likely to apply it to something better than if I get it a little at a time.
Tree House Academy
I agree. I won't even discuss what I *think* of the stimulus. Suffice it to say that my ex husband and I joked that he would now need to increase child support by $2.50 a month and that I expect him to use his $14 wisely...even if he can't feed his whole family at McDonalds on it. Desert Rat
Hmmm....that could explain why dh's check was a bit larger last pay period. We don't receive pay stubs here (all electronic, grrrr) but it was nominal so I didn't wonder to check. I think it was about $45. We live in the desert southwest in case the gov't is implimenting the plan in stages. I honestly haven't heard much about it.
Tree House Academy
Nope, we didn't owe at all. We got a good heafty sum back, to be honest. How weird. I read somewhere today in my research that companies had until April 1 to implement the change, so maybe his company is just waiting until the last possible minute. :(
Tired_Mama
Employers have to activate it my sometime in April, I believe, though I'm not sure of the exact date. That's why some people are seeing it sooner than others.
MommyX8
There was a stimulus??? I never see a paystub and dh's hours, per diem, etc varies from month to month so I would never have a clue. The only time that I have a clue is when I do the taxes and he gives me the W-2. :001_huh: Although, I did just receive a letter that he increased his retirement percentage so he would probably only do this when I wouldn't notice. Tree House Academy
My dh's paycheck is always one of two amounts and never varies other than between those two...so I jump on new money like a piranha. LOL
HiddenJewel
If you don't have federal income tax taken out of your paycheck (depending on how many exemptions you claim), I'm guessing you won't see a difference.
