Jules
If you are using TT for the elementary grades, do you just use the CD's or the workbook also? I'm not sure about purchasing the complete kit or I thought I had seen some just use the CD's. Your suggestions and comments, please. Julie
I used 6 and 7, neither of the workbooks were ever opened.
Mom2GirlsTX
We have done 6, and the workbook has never even been opened. You could definitely get by with just the CD's for the lower grades.
Alphabetika
My dd is using TT5 and, like others, hasn't used the workbook at all. I would have bought the CDs alone but it wasn't available that way when I bought it. (Perhaps it is now?) She grasps math quickly and does fine with just the explanation she hears in the lectures. We love it!
klmama
We used the workbook for reference. It's easier to review before a test with the book because one can look at the previous sections to see what was covered. Since the cost is only $20 more when purchased with the CDs, I think it's worth it. If you don't use it, you can resell it later for what you paid - bought separately they cost much more. Even if you use it instead of the CDs, which I know some people prefer to do to save time, you wouldn't have to let your dc write in it. scrapbabe
You definitely don't need the workbook. All of the questions in the workbook are on the cd. My son likes to have the workbook to workout his problems and then he types his answer into the computer. That's his personal preference. But it isn't a "need". KathyBC
We're using just the CDs for the lessons but I have ds write the tests in the workbook.
bella_gitana
We've only used the workbook once. The computer crashed and I had my son use the workbook for a week until we got the computer to work.
nukeswife
My oldest is using TT5 now and I bought just the CD's. It hasn't been a problem at all. If he needs to work out a problem he has a pad of graph paper and a small white board next to the computer for him to use. I also recently bought TT6 and TT7 used, without workbooks and don't plan on buying them.
RJH
We are about finished with TT5, and haven't used the CD's. And I just bought TT6 with the book, but I doubt he will use the book.
