Jumping In Puddles Posted January 31, 2009 Share Posted January 31, 2009 I cooked chick peas (garbanzo beans) last night (only water and salt) and about 8pm I turned of the heat and went to bed to read. Well, I fell asleep :lol: and the beans sat on the stove all night in the pot with the lid on. This morning they are cool and they don't smell but ARE THEY SAFE TO EAT? What do you think? Heck, the other day I cooked chicken livers (boiled them....they were for the cats), put them in a bowl, and left them on the counter for four hours. I didn't even throw them away! The cats are not getting sick. LOL. (I didn't purposefully leave them on the counter, btw. I went to work and remembered that they were on the counter as I was driving...)
