Can someone help me with Word?

I want to make a checklist for myself, sort of like the Motivated Mom's checklist, but I want to customize my own planner. I don't know how to make those little boxes, sort of like bullet points, but they're empty boxes. I've looked in the formatting palette on word, but it only had dots, stars, diamonds, numbers, etc, no boxes.

 

Anyone know how to make those?

I use a font called Wingdings. On my mac it's the letter q.

I was thinking the same thing... then I realised I am simply too lazy and, also, there is something about somebody else making the list for me that makes me more likely to stick to it. :001_huh:

 

I use OpenOffice, but in the bullet and numbering section, where you can look through the character map for special characters, there is a "geometric shapes" category that has a box. If I remember correctly, in Word there is also something in Webdings or Wingdings that is a box or an unfilled circle or something.

Or you can go to Insert-->Symbol and there are several to choose from.

Once you've got it in the document, you should be able to copy and paste it to repeat it, so you don't have to go throught the menus/fonts beyond the first time.

Do you use pages at all? They have an auto-bullet that is a check box. . . .

Type your list. Select all the text. Go to >Format, then >Bullets and Numbering; you'll get a drop-down dialogue box with a selection of bullets. Pick the one with the squares. Voila: a bulleted list that is also formatted as a "hanging indent."
