Saddleback Church (Southern Baptist) ordains 3 women pastors

God forbid you interpret those verses as addressing the churches and problems the letters were directed to and take the praise of the female led churches as praise because they were doing a good job.  The last thing I’d want to do is be a pastor, I don’t have the patience for people who complain but never change, but it’s difficult to read the whole New Testament, understand the context, and not at least question what Paul was talking about.

I never quite understood why Saddleback was still part of SBC. I know this is a carryover from when Rick Warren first planted the church since he was ordained in SBC.

Yes, they always seem like a law unto themselves to me, similarly to Glide Memorial in SF.

Are you sure?  A lady in my book group said otherwise within the last 6 months.  Is it more recent?

ETA:  Looking on their website, you're right, as of November of 2020.  Very recent.
