Closeacademy
I've seen discussions about girls with long hair and the use of sleeping caps to help with tangles. I've found a site that sells them but am wondering if anyone has come across patterns for these as I would like to make mine a little bit fancier. Thanks.:001_smile:
Ria
When it's really cold I wear a regular knit hat to bed. Sad, but true. Our upstairs is chilly, and we keep the heat off at night. Never heard of wearing caps to prevent tangles...interesting idea. Ria
Garga
I wear a knit hat, too! In fact, I'm wearing it right now! I wear it to bed and my husband just rolls his eyes. The other day we were looking at a list of questions designed to help spouses with conversation starters. There were questions like, "I feel special when you..." or "I know you love me when you..." One of the questions was, "I get turned on when you..." and my husband filled in the blank "...take your hat off." :001_rolleyes:
Garga
Oh, yeah. Where is that web site for people who sell sleeping caps? I always tell my husband about the line in that Christmas poem, "and ma in her CAP were just settling down for a long winter's nap." Cap! LaxMom
How 'bout a snood? Some of the sleep caps out there a) scream 1970s cafeteria lady and b) I think long hair would pull them off. A snood seems like it would hold it together better.
LaxMom
Or maybe the slip-on cap here?
Closeacademy
Some of the patterns at that site are so cute but not quite what I am looking for. I'll keep looking. Thanks.:001_smile:
SapphireStitch
:lurk5: I'm watching this thread eagerly for more links. :) I've been trying to pull the blankets up around the back of my head to stay warm at night, but that's not working very well. One thing I considered doing was knitting some sort of head scarf or wrap, but I haven't seen a pattern for anything like this. I was picturing it being knitted of fairly fine yarn so it would be lightweight and soft, but very warm.
Rosie_0801
Have you tried searching for a coif? If you want fancy, you can blackwork them like people did during the Tudor reigns. :) Rosie
