Ann.without.an.e
I come downstairs yesterday in capris (not fancy) and my kids comment "wow, mom, why so dressed up?" 🙄 3
moonflower
Any favorite t shirt dresses to recommend? I also live in soft pants or leggings and t shirts or tshirt dresses. My current "fancy" outfit is a t shirt dress with pockets.
Guest
Same here. If my kids can hear my shoes clicking onthe floor (IOW, not tennies), they assume I’m dressed up. 1
alisoncooks
Once when my (now 11 yo) DD was about 3, we got dressed and went to the grocery store. At some point, she turned to me and said, "But why we be all dressed up?"  She was wearing sweat pants and a t-shirt. It turns out that, because I brushed her hair, she felt "dressed up." (We're very casual around here... but for the record, we do brush our hair.)

73349
When DS was a preschooler, I wore skirts and dresses so seldom he would forget the words and have to ask me every time what my clothes were. What's changed now is that he has a better long-term memory. :)
Suzanne in ABQ
I'm just the opposite. Â I wear capris just about every single day, three seasons of the year. Â If I wear leggings with a long shirt, or (especially) a short dress, everyone comments on my adorable "outfit", like I'm all dressed up or something.
