fourisenough
Title says it all. Would you consider assigning a history credit for AP Art History? Or is it strictly elective/fine art credit? This student has already taken US History and Ancient World History. She will also take Govt/Econ in future.
JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
No, I would not grant a history credit for AP Art History. While art is informed by history and current events, the goals of art history and history courses are not the same. They don't attempt to cover the same themes or have the same goals. That said, I'm a huge advocate for studying art history; it is a fantastic accompaniment to history, literature, and music studies. I should also add that AP Art History is a solid college prep course. Edited July 13, 2019 by JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
Corraleno
Colleges will consider it a Fine Arts course, and if they give college credit for the AP score it will be in Art not History.

Or most likely it will be specifically for an Art History credit. Depending on the school, Art History may be in the same department as Fine Art, or they may be completely different departments (or even in different schools).
