AbcdeDooDah
I bought some Minties at Target for my puppy for her chewing needs. She seemed to do pretty well chewing for several minutes but she ended up swallowing whole the middle potion after the ends had been chewed off, so about 1 1/2 inches. I have been afraid to give her another one. Are these dangerous? She is eating the tiny, which says it is for her weight range, but it seems so small. Alicia64
I bought Greenies for my adult shepherd -- and was giving one a day. Within a week he was vomiting. I'm taking them back. My boy is known for having a sensitive stomach, but I don't trust any of the breath-helpers anymore. Last year, we put him on something the vet recommended and he ended up having a blood transfusion at a university vet hospital. because of a bleeding ulcer. Thankfully he made it, but no, I think those things are iffy and I wouldn't use them. Alley
Pawz4me
I'm not a fan of Greenies, but for no reason I can logically pinpoint. Just something about them seems wrong to me. With that said, I give our dog a Pedigree Dentastix every day. He loves them and the vet raves about how great his teeth are. He's seven and his teeth are still pearly white and free of tartar, which is pretty unusual for a small breed dog. I don't know if it's the Dentastix, the mostly home-cooked food he gets, or if he just won the genetic lottery in that regard.
hornblower
My guys get Whimzees occasionally. Fwiw, with a small dog to prevent swallowing, one option might be to get something too large, just large enough to gnaw on an edge but not really break into it well. The large whimzees alligators and hedgehogs are good for having lots of interesting edges and even a small dog can find something to gnaw on it. https://www.whimzees.com/size-guide/

I stopped giving them to him. I wouldn't recommend them at all. At some point around the time I stopped using them they were either recalled or the American Veterinary Medical Association said not to use them. I can't remember which, but they were definitely warned as causing trouble. Thanks. I'll toss them. Maybe my neighbor's chickens will like them.
