Lisa in the UP of MI
I think I remember reading about a book or two that helped parents/teachers learn how to teach math the Singapore way. Does anyone know more? Thanks!
yvonne
by Parker & Baldridge? http://www.singaporemath.com/Elementary_Mathematics_for_Teachers_p/emft.htm I saw this text mentioned on the SM yahoo group & just received it. It's used to teach teachers how to teach math using the Singapore Primary Math series. I'm working my way through it. Pricey, but it has been immediately practical & useful to me in teaching PM 3. This site was also mentioned at the SM yahoo group: http://the-pi-project.com/html/pp_aboutus.html They "offer training to schools and teachers adopting Singapore Math." ( I was so disappointed to see I'd just missed a seminar in my area by a week! :( ) yvonne
stripe
There's also this handbook for elem teachers: ISBN 9789810159054 http://www.singaporemath.com/Handbook_for_Primary_Mathematics_Teachers_p/hbpm.htm I have a question about the Parker & Baldridge book; can you use it without owning all 6 years of Singapore Math texts?
