We joke and say our song is "Happy To Be Stuck With You" by Huey Lewis but our real song is "Me & You" by Kenny Chesney.

I've had so much fun reading these! So I had to add mine too.

 

My DH is a HUGE Rush fan - so the first song played at our reception was Lakeside Park... He can never forget our anniversary (although it wasn't planned around this song).

Everyone would gather on the 24th of May,

sitting in the sand to watch the fireworks display.

Dancing fires on the beach, singing songs together;

Though it's just a memory, some mem'ries last forever.

 

But our song is truly REO Speedwagon's "Can't Fight This Feeling"

Our song is "I can't help falling in love with you" by UB40.

 

This song was popular on the radio at a time when my heart was broken. When I hear it on the radio, I still choke up. The part that gets me is, "Take my hand. Take my whole life, too." He actually got married. That's how he broke up with me. He got married!

 

I just thought you might find it interesting that your love song is someone else's "I'll never have that" song.

 

Oh, and remember the line from "When Harry Met Sally": "He said he didn't want to get married! But.. (sniff, snivel, snort)..he just didn't want to marry ME!!!" I can so totally relate.

WOW! I have so enjoyed getting to know you all a little better by "your songs". PrairieAir yes I know and like that song too. Who can not like that, but I still don't let my kids listen to that yet. ;)

 

Tibbyl- yes I do remember that David Allan Coe sang that song as well. He does a very good version of it. It was funny my ringtone on my phone is Stand By Your Man, the version I knew was by Tammy Wynette of course. Well, Cingular did not have that song sung by her, but they did have David Allan Coe singing it. So now both my ringtones are David Allan Coe. When my husband calls it is our song and when anyone else calls it is Stand by Your Man. A little off topic I know. ;)

My husband sang this to me one evening at an inn and it became "our song". He also sang it to me at our wedding. It's called "I Could Write a Book" by Rodgers & Hart.
