mom31257
If the leaves are splattered with reddish brown that doesn't wipe off, is this a type of basil or some kind of plant disease? I'm frustrated that the leaves were all carefully folded in the package where you really couldn't see the reddish-brown.
happi duck
Was it refrigerated? Maybe it's cold damage? Google might have some photos to compare.
skimomma
Could be Thai Basil which has some purple in it. Whatever the case, if it is not slimy and smells OK, I'd use it.
Tanaqui
Could go either way, but it won't harm you to eat it.
