Melissa in St Louis
We are studying a composer each quarter, and I want us to be able to recognize/name 3 famous works by each composer...What do you think those 3 should be for Mozart? I picked Eine kleine Nachtmusik since I know it pops up on Little Einsteins occasionally, but other than that, there is just SO MUCH to choose from for Mozart. Ideas on what other works a 6 year old miht come in contact with? Hope this question makes sense!:tongue_smilie: Melissa in St Louis
Hathersage
well here's a place to start http://www.classicsforkids.com/shows/showview.asp?ID=27 i'd say you'd also want to study Symphony no. 41 in C major (Jupiter) and maybe Piano Concerto no. 21 in C major (or the magic flute, if you want to introduce opera)
laylamcb
Here's what AO covered in two different terms focusing on Mozart: Eine Kleine Nacht Musik Requiem [A Vocal work] Symphony no. 41 in C major (Jupiter) Sinfonia Concertante Piano Concerto no. 21 in C major (K.467) Piano Concerto 20 (2 weeks) Symphony 40 (4 weeks) Quintet in A maj for clarinet (2 weeks) Piano Sonata in A maj K.331 (2 weeks) Concerto for bassoon and orchestra in B-flat major, K. 191 (the only bassoon concerto he wrote) :001_smile:

Plaid Dad
The Toy Symphony The Toy Symphony is by Leopold Mozart, W. A. M.'s father. :) It's great fun, though. I'd vote for Eine kleine Nachtmusik, The Jupiter Symphony, and The Magic Flute.

Carol in Cal.
Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and the Requiem. Not sure about the third choice, but maybe Ave Verum Corpus.
Crimson Wife
What about the overture from "Marriage of Figaro"?
