almondbutterandjelly
My Silk soymilk container says Please Recycle, but our city recycling center says that waxy beverage cartons are not recyclable. Is this the case? Or is our specific recycling center just not capable of much recycling? They also don't like plastic bags or glass. mamaraby
The Carton Council has mail in options - https://www.recyclecartons.com
Corraleno
I think it's your center; waxed cartons are on the list of acceptable recyclables at ours.
MasaMama
I think it's your center, too. Ours could not recycle them till last year. We got a notice saying that they now accept waxed cartons and plastic bags. Edited December 6, 2017 by MasaMama
BarbecueMom
Ours takes them now, but not plastic bags. Next year I may try to keep all of them. I saw a video on YouTube of someone filling them with water, freezing them, tearing off the carton, then using the "bricks" of ice to build an igloo or walls for a snowball fight. You can put different food coloring in some of them to make it multicolored! I won't have enough cartons until next winter though.
KungFuPanda
I clicked on this thread because I didn’t understand the title. 😂 Who has cartons made of silk? Who is trying to recycle silk? Clearly I have no experience with non-dairy milks.
