Homeschoolmom3
I am wondering if there is an add on motor out there that one could use regular Legos and make things that move like robotic? Just curious we have this for K'nex and was curious if there is anything out there for Lego beside Mindstorms. Thanks so much looking for an idea for Christmas. :)
wapiti
Before Mindstorms, there was Lego Dacta and then Technic. Some of those kits include battery-powered motors. Search ebay.
Arcadia
My boys like this set. You can’t program but you can make simple machines. You do have to have some Lego Technic pieces already as the set is just motors to complement the Lego Technic pieces. Arcadia
Okay thanks...so you need to have the technic sets for that motor set... Not necessary. We buy miscellaneous technic pieces from yard sales and flea markets where people sell incomplete Lego sets at low prices and my kids just use them for parts. SoCal_Bear
You can do this with the Lego WeDo kit and program it using a computer or tablet.
