One kid accidentally kicked another kid in the face. Two hours later, the kid has redness but no swelling around his eye. I've had him icing it for twenty minutes at a time. What else can I do to keep it from swelling and minimizing bruising.

Keep with the icing on and off as long as he's up tonight. Ibuprofen will help reduce the inflammation. Luckily black eyes don't hurt too much as a general rule, and generate much conversation! ;)

Or can you get arnica montana pellets (usually from a health food store). They are pretty common around here. Arnica reduces bruising and swelling if taken soon after the incident.
