If you don't want to commit to something permanent without a trial run, you might try a couple of coat trees and a small bookcase or bins. 

 

We don't have as many kids or very much space, so we put a 4-cube IKEA bookcase in our front closet for co-op days, library books, etc. You can fit a filled bookbag in one cubby. I also really recommend a book that is for people with ADHD, but it's really just common sense, non-burdensome organization (vs. organization for people who enjoy organizing): https://www.amazon.com/Organizing-Solutions-People-Revised-Updated/dp/1592335128
