Heather in OK
She did French for Children last year as an intro. I love love love CAP but they don't have the upper levels like they do for Latin. Something with a dvd lesson is ideal. Online class would be nice but they are usually so very $$$.
Hilltopmom
I've got French 1 set fromGalore Park for sale, if you're interested. It has a cd with it. I bought it after reading recommendations here, but Ds decided to do Spanish at the CC instead.
Roadrunner
I wouldn't use Galore for a high schooler. Look at French in Action.

Mom22ns
Breaking the French Barrier with the iPad app + Duolingo. We used Breaking the Barrier for a year and I was very impressed. It was just before the iPad app came out, so I have no experience with that. Dd switched her foreign language to the community college, but I thought BTB was solid and user friendly.
Heather in OK
Do the audio cd's help teach the lesson? Or are they supplemental material? Edited May 31, 2017 by Heather in OK
MamaSprout
Do the audio cd's help teach the lesson? Or are they supplemental material? I haven't used the CDs at all because we used the audio in the iBook (sorry if I confused- I guess it's a book, not an app). We have ended up using tests, work text and answer key. We started with just the iBook, though, which replicates much of the content in the book, but is very engaging and the built in flash cards are super handy. We added in the textbook around chapter 6 when dd needed more writing in French. We've done lots of other French, but BthB is our spine. For what it is worth, we'll just get the package for Breaking the Barrier 2 this fall. I think Rainbow Resource has a good price.
