Plaid Dad
My dd needs to get a jump rope for OT. I've looked at several local chain stores (Target, Dick's) and at least a dozen web sites, and I'm not finding what I'm looking for. Here is the wish list: * the right length for a child under 4' tall or adjustable * not beaded * preferably pink/girly but not branded (no Dora, Barbie, etc.) * under $10, including shipping Anyone have any pointers? In The Great White North
old fashioned hardware store Go to the rope section and buy about 6-7 feet of a soft, 1/2inch diameter rope. It comes in colors (by size though so you can't really choose). It's heavy enough to turn properly and you can get any size you like. You might want to get a longer one too, for when she wants you to double jump with her!
woolybear
I'm sure there's many other places, but I think Melissa and Doug make a decent one. Don't know about the price, though....

Plaid Dad
Never mind! I just found out that my dw found one for 99 cents at the family-owned drug store in our town. :) [ETA: I was typing while others were responding - thank you for your suggestions!] Edited October 22, 2008 by Plaid Dad addition
elegantlion
Have you tried a teacher supply store? That was where we found ours.
