Pegasus
We've used Amazon for renting textbooks with great success in the past. The books are usually in good used condition. We received one today that is in a bit worse (but usable) condition. I don't want to risk being charged for damage at the end of the semester. When I open the front cover, the binding is starting to separate. Can I photograph the damage and email the textbook provider just to provide documentation? Can I (should I) reinforce the binding? Should I send it back and try to rent a different copy? Thanks. Edited December 29, 2016 by Pegasus
The Girls' Mom
I would take a photo and email. FWIW, I've gotten some pretty rough ones as rentals, and they've never given me any trouble upon return.
Luckymama
We received a poor copy once that was promptly replaced.
MomsintheGarden
I agree with Luckymama - get it replaced.
JanetC
Do not attempt any home repairs without checking if the rental agreement allows this. I agree with returning it. If the binding needs reinforcement, it was not received in acceptable condition.
