Beaniemom
Dd10 wants to learn French, DD6 wants to learn Spanish, DS is still wotking on speaking clear, fluent English and learning more ASL, and I speak English, some ASL, and learned Getman in high school and college. Does the Hive have any suggestions on programs for my DD's? I started DD 10 on duolingo for now my DD6 would struggle with typing in answers. The budget is small for this endevor as well. Renai
I don't have suggestions for French, but for Spanish you can start out with Salsa. It's free. I haven't personally used it, but it often gets good reviews here. http://www.gpb.org/salsa
Julie Smith
Duolingo has been great here for Eldest. Youngest prefers Memrise. We also made use of various programs and things from the library.
Jackie
I second Salsa. I think it's the best beginner program out there for young kids.
EndOfOrdinary
Many libraries have storytimes in different languages. We attended Spanish storytime for years. Ds was never the recommended age, but it didn't bother him since the littles were more than happy that they new so much more Spanish than he did. Soon, they were evenly matched and Ds did not need to feel awkward trying to conversate because everyone's vocabulary was very limited.
