UncleEJ
I would like to get my boys some new kicks for Christmas. I am trying to find something that will hold up to hard playing and working outdoors. We live on a large piece of property and they are constantly outside in the woods playing or working with DH. Ideally, I would love something that they could work in, but also run around with the neighbor kids as well. So probably a sturdy shoe as opposed to boot, but I am open to suggestion. Usually they just wear running type sneakers but they seem to get distroyed so quickly, even the expensive Nike or Underarmor ones. A year or two ago, I got them some pull-on leather "work" boots but they thought they were uncomfortable and didn't want to play in them. Any ideas? Oh, and I'm thinking of spending around $50 each. jen3kids
What about some trail running/hiking shoes? Something by Merrell or Keen?
EmseB
I like Land's End boots like this. These are a bit more, but I think there's a 40% off sale running right now.
AmandaVT
Keens hold up great. Something like this or this
regentrude
At that age, I bought my kids simple hiking boots from Walmart. They lasted long enough to be passed down to younger sibling and were outgrown before they were worn out. At those ages, splurging on brand name hiking shoes did not make sense.
redsquirrel
we had good luck with hiking sneakers from LL bean, but any good quality hiking sneaker might do. the ones he got were these: http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/91986?feat=512999-GN1&page=boys-trail-model-hiker-low He had several pairs over the years and I could not believe how well they held up.
UncleEJ
Keens hold up great. Something like this or this These are great. I hadn't really looked at Keens because I had it in my head they were pricier than I was wanting but I like the price of these. Thank you!
