E_Edgerton
So, firstly...this is not a political thread. I don't care which side of the aisle your beliefs reside. As the election looms I get a little excited about voting. When I turned 18 I was so excited to vote. This excitement only grows with the passing years. I just love that my vote is equal to that of the President, Bill Gates, a celebrity, or my neighbor. I know it sounds corny, but voting is really our only great equalizer. So, no matter who you are voting for, just please do! :) Edited October 17, 2008 by E_Edgerton

threetreasurs
My son just applied for his absentee ballet so that he could vote while away at college. I have never seen the college students so motivated to participate!
Mom to Aly
I agree! I have always loved to vote! I love taking my daughter with me--she loves going! I have never missed a vote, in my life! I have had to vote absentee 5 times, when I have lived in other countries, and when I have been away, twice. I missed going to the booths! My daughter and I are both so excited about going this year! Jeannie in NJ
I vote every single election even tho I live in a state where my vote doesn't really count since my party never wins. I wish we would get rid of the electoral college and just count the popular vote and then my vote would actually count. I will, however, still be voting in Nov. Jenny in Atl
I've voted since I was 18, and in every election... even small local issues.
lovemyboys
I've voted since I was 18, and in every election... even small local issues. Same here. My folks forward the local congressman's fliers so that I can follow the local issues when I've been voting absentee. I loved the Sorkin quote above.
