Safe to eat?

I baked some pumpkins in the oven last night, turned off the heat, and forgot about them.  I just found them tonight.  Do you think they'd be safe?  Or would it be better not to eat them?  I remember reading about botulism and cooked potatoes....

Botulism requires lack of oxygen. That's why it happens in canned goods. I don't see how the pumpkin could develop botulin toxin (which is destroyed by heating anyway)

ETA: I'd keep the pumpkin. When I was growing up, my parents always kept food leftovers at room temp for hours; nobody ever got sick.

I don't think you need to worry about botulism, but there might be some other kind of bacteria growth since they were at room temp for so long.  I would throw them away to be safe.

The botulism risk from potatoes occurs when you bake them wrapped in foil, because the foil creates an airtight environment that allows botulism to grow.
