AnneBlessedx4
DD is going into 11th grade and has taken General Biology and Chemistry and done well in them. She is thinking of possibly becoming an EMT or getting a journalism degree. :) Or neither. She wants to take some science that will help her out in the future. Do you think I could take my older son's books from the EMT program and make a course for her? or something else?
HollyDay
I'd imagine an EMT book would be more health than science? How about an an anatomy/physiology course? Genetics? Environmental Science?
foxbridgeacademy
Do you know what the College she will be attending requires? If there's no mention of specifics then I would think you could, after all Health is a Science. If you think the College would be funny about it you could add in A&P (we like the Body Book) then you have Anatomy, Physiology, and ____________________________ (does "Health" really describe an EMT course?) Emergency Medicine would fit better maybe?
Mom22ns
I'd do Anatomy. It is very practical to know more about your own body and how it works and if she decides to go the EMT route it will be good preparation.
Carrie12345
I agree with not categorizing EMT as science. That said, are the EMT regulations different state by state? Here, you can take the course at 16. I'd sign her up instead of tackling a home course!
