Coco_Clark
It's been a while but I'm rested and gearing up for Fall :) I've got a 3rd grader wanting to learn to type. Any recommendations for a program? Free is great but I'm willing to pay for quality. I'd like something that really takes them from beginning to fluency, if that makes sense. Not just practice games. lexi
My kids have learned with Typing Insteuctor for Kids. It wasn't expensive. I also looked at Mavis Beacon. I went with the first choice because I had some younger kiddos wanting to learn. But both programs looked good.
nansk
I googled for Mavis Beacon and found mavisbeaconfree.com The site says they offer older versions for free download. Is it legit?
Lucy the Valiant
The darling children in this house out-smarted ("won" the game) Typing Instructor without actually learning how to type. (I don't think this is typical, but - you may have kids like mine. ) They now practice on typing.com - a free online site that calculates wpm & lets them take quizzes as they're ready.
