Journey
honey? I bought, and opened, a jar (plastic if it matters) of honey last fall or winter. I haven't finished it and was wondering if it is still good? I have kept it in a cupboard. How long does honey last? Should I throw it out? Parrothead
It is good. Even if it crystallizes it is good. Just heat it up and it will be smooth again.
Doran
Honey lasts indefinitely. However...it *may* become crystalized, eventually, meaning it will harden a bit and become more "sugary". This is more a result of temperature changes (cooling) and can be reversed by gently heating the honey again. Enjoy!
Garga
Honey is the only food in the world that does not spoil. They found pots of honey in ancient Egyptian tombs, and it was still good. Thousands of years later. Heat it up if it needs to be smoothed out.
