JanetC
DD got a merit award with her acceptance letter that fully meets our financial need. Should I contact the financial aid office and withdraw our application for need-based aid? Just leave it and see if they offer any more money?
Starr
Always leave it. They will get the information. And you can call and ask for more. Some people get more than their financial need. Congratulations!
GoodGrief
Definitely leave it. You never know what could happen financially, or what misunderstandings could occur. If nothing else, it leaves open the possibility of a small student loan.
creekland
Congratulations! Merit is the best aid (usually) as it won't decrease even if your income changes. It can change due to grades (sometimes), so be wary of that. I'd leave the other app in. If they know merit met need, they'll catch that so there's no problem. G5052
Yes, never turn down anything unless you're changing something else that makes you ineligible like a major, hometown, etc.
