Farrar
Waffle House in Millidgeville, GA serves it this way. (Maybe other Waffle Houses, too.) If Waffle House does it... it must be right. "Hey special lady at the Waffle House, I'll have my pie scattered, smothered, covered, chunked, topped, and diced, please." marbel
We are getting ready to have dessert (pumpkin and apple pies) but I had made these maple pecan bars for a party this weekend. I couldn't resist sampling. Oh man they are good. Very rich; a small piece will go a long way. Obviously no one's looking for Thanksgiving recipes any more, but they are good for other occasions!
Farrar
I can always remember for next year! I like having different things... bars sounds good. And from the Kitchn. :D

Farrar
For some of us, it holds a special place in our childhood. I will say though, dh, being from New England, had never been there or heard of it. The first time we went he was like, um, steak and eggs and I completely freaked out. I was like, you don't order MEAT from the Waffle House! I mean, bacon, sure. Maybe sausage. But not steak! That's there for looks.
