IfIOnly
I've done the tooth mommy forever, but I just had two kids lose teeth tonight and have no cash in the house. Can I just take them to get a candy bar next time we're out? Ha! Any other traditions for celebrating losing a tooth out there?
mathnerd
Our tooth fairy leaves a note with an IOU if there is no cash in the house. It usually says that she will be back with cash on a specific date. She has been known to leave a new toothbrush, toothpaste or floss along with the note. There is a small gift along with the cash on the day that the money is supposed to be there.
Tsuga
One time the tooth fairy faced a delay due to an extreme weather event on the East Coast which usually wouldn't affect her magic but it was pretty severe, just Google it. The tooth fairy has also left costume jewelry...
scoutingmom
Our kids learn early that there are many kids that lose teeth each night, and that the tooth fairy can't always get to everyone's house... it can take a few days... displace
Maybe sprinkle a little fairy dust (glitter), a note can say the teeth were extra rare and need to be studied to determine their true worth. Or give a little toy that may not have been seen yet.
AuNaturel
My daughter never gets money from the tooth fairy. Sometimes if I can get a hold of a silver dollar, I'll leave that. But otherwise, it's always been a "trinket", a loose gemstone, a beautiful shell...You know, typical shiny, fairy-favorite stuff. Of course, when I'm shown the object, I exaggerate how much of a "treasure" it is. But if you feel they really will be disappointed, sneak it out of their bank and replace it the next day! They won't notice. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
tm919
Our tooth fairy leaves books... books I would have given them anyway, but they don't know that (yet).
