Night Elf Posted May 25, 2015 Share Posted May 25, 2015 Dd17 is ready to buy a MacBook. She went to the Mac store yesterday alone to talk to a sales rep. They decided on a certain model. DH is not familiar with Mac products so we aren't sure she's getting what she needs. It has 8gb of RAM. On a PC laptop, that would be fine for us. Is it fine on a MacBook? If she is going to be using it for applications that require a lot of video or audio processing, that won't be enough. But, for just regular school type stuff, that will be plenty. mamajag Posted May 25, 2015 Share Posted May 25, 2015 8 gb is plenty. As long as it's not one of those little MacBooks (I don't like the processor in those or the dearth of ports), she'll be fine.
