Nice bush/plant year round?

We are having our outside hot tub removed completely. We're tired of repairing it. Anyway, we'll have a large area next to the deck that will be empty. The railing will be short too since the hot tub won't be there to step into. I'd like a big bush in that area. I need something very low maintenance that will look nice year round. It doesn't have to flower in any season, although that would be nice. What should I look for? I live in Georgia and it's a shady spot.

Haha--I was just coming in to say "not azaleas"--I think they are ugly most of the time!

How about boxwood? Or those bushes that have the reddish growth in the spring but are basically green other parts of the year? (I'm sorry, I can't remember the name--we do have them.)

Hmmm.... Georgia, lol.  Not my zone!

Some things I've always longed to try but been unable to here:

Daphne (I especially like the ones with variegated leaves and white flowers)

Dwarf bottlebrush (attracts butterflies)

and you might also try lowbush blueberries?  Unlike many berries they're actually quite nice-looking, and it'f fun to have a few to pick from.  They grow all the way to Maine but I think there are cultivars that work all the way down to Florida...
