maize
Where can I find safety information for full size vans? Our current van is a '96, still running well minus the rear AC but we are considering getting something newer if it has significantly improved safety features. Consumer reports is usually my go-to for car ratings, but they don't do full size vans. What is the best place to look? And does anyone have a recommendation? Arcadia
I'll check out NHTSA http://www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Shoppers/5-Star+Safety+Ratings/2011-Newer+Vehicles/Search-Results?searchtype=class&vclass=VAN
maize
I'll check out NHTSA http://www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Shoppers/5-Star+Safety+Ratings/2011-Newer+Vehicles/Search-Results?searchtype=class&vclass=VAN Thanks for the link! Why are so many listed as "not rated" for the crash tests?
MEmama
DS also recommends IIHS, which apparently uses a different rating system than NHTSA. For fuel economy he suggests Fueleconomy.gov. They also have the IIHS rating there if you look under the safety rating for the particular make. He says FYI, the NHTSA ratings got stricter in 2011, making newer and older cars uncomparible.
MEmama
Why are so many listed as "not rated" for the crash tests? DS says IIHS will have a higher percentage tested.
