Joanne
Our efc = $4684 and the Pell Grant $1080. I have no assets, and a modest tax report for 2014, filed as HOH. I expected the Pell Grant to be higher, but maybe this is what I can expect as my income grows?
Elisabet1
When our EFC was $6000, there was zero pell grant.
katilac
Yes, current income weighs in very strongly.
Jenny in Florida
Our efc = $4684 and the Pell Grant $1080. According to this college's calculator, with that EFC, the Pell Grant amount is spot on: http://www.palmbeachstate.edu/financialaid/pell-grant-calculator.aspx
Laura in CA
According to this college's calculator, with that EFC, the Pell Grant amount is spot on: http://www.palmbeachstate.edu/financialaid/pell-grant-calculator.aspx That calculator agrees with the figures for my "bonus son" -- a few years ago, his Pell Grant was $5,550 with an EFC of 0. Well, I guess that's the maximum/minimum, so it should agree ... Perhaps the sum of EFC + Pell is always a set amount, around $5700 this year.
