displace
I wanted to post on the chat board as it gets a lot of traffic and I thought crafters could suggest what I need. I want to make raised lined paper for DSs writing to help him feel where the lines are while writing for dysgraphia. If I buy it it's expensive. And I also print my own sheets for his practice. So if I print at home and have a tool to make a slight impression on the paper I could do it. I was thinking maybe a simple tool similar to a pizza cutter, rolled from the back. Does anything like this sound familiar or anyone ever seen a tool like this? If necessary I could just go at it with something at home but IDW what would work. A rounded toothpick? Maybe I'll cross post in learning differences too.
bluemongoose
There is a type of pizza cutter like wheel that is used in sewing. It is for marking fabric. I think it might work! I'll see if I can find a link.

Mrs Mungo
You just need a simple embossing tool. Most craft stores will have something similar to this: http://www.joann.com/dual-tip-stylus-embossing-tools/6603708.html?mkwid=pSGyyMzV%7Cdm&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_campaign=Shopping+-+Scrapbooking&CS_003=10131488&CS_010=%5BProductId%5D&gclid=CKW3j7OwkcICFZSPfgodp7MAdQ You can also get a frame, hold on one second, and I will find one... Mrs Mungo
I can't find what I am looking for right now, but I am on my phone. Your local craft store should have a dry embossing template for making lines.
Aiden
I have a paper cutter similar to the one at: http://smile.amazon.com/Westcott-Trimmer-Titanium-Bonded-Blades/dp/B000GP5L3U/ref=sr_1_6?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1416770327&sr=1-6&keywords=paper+cutter . In addition to the cutting blade, it has a scorer that makes a line along the line where the cut will be if you go over it with the cutting blade. Something like that also would work for what you need, I think.
zoobie
They make plastic templates for crafting and folding envelopes. You stick the embossing tool in the slit to "draw" a folding line. I wonder if you you could make a plastic template with the lines for yourself... I'm not sure how to cut the fairly rigid plastic though. Example of what I'm talking about: http://www.joann.com/hot-off-the-press-12inx12in-templates-envelopes/2032605.html?mkwid=pSGyyMzV|dm&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_campaign=Shopping+-+Scrapbooking&CS_003=10131488&CS_010=%5BProductId%5D&gclid=CMiK4uG6kcICFcYF7Aod408AHA
unsinkable
Like others said, you want to be able to score your lines. There is a crafty tool called a Scor-Pal. You can put in a sheet of paper and score it in multiple places without moving it. The lines are measured. http://www.amazon.com/Scor-Pal-Measuring-Scoring-Board-X12/dp/B001C0XFF4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416774427&sr=8-1&keywords=scor-pal
Mrs Mungo
I have a plastic embossing template made for scrapbook journaling that has straight lines all of the way across, and it's 12 x 12. I can't find anything exactly like it online now though. I bought it at a scrapbook store. It would work perfectly for your purpose, if you can find something like that. unsinkable
SCORE! I KNEW this board could help think of some ideas! Thanks for all the help :) ETA -- the score originally meant success but now it's a pun too! I noticed Martha Stewart has a scoring board, too. If you have a Michael's nearby, this might be your best bet if you get a 40% off coupon (usually in Sunday's paper.) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0036FDKZS/ref=dra_a_cs_ss_hn_it_P320_100?tag=dradisplay-20&ascsubtag=4a251a2ef9bbf4ccc35f97aba2c9cbda
Mrs. Darinski
How old is your child? I have a nearly-full (2 pages out of 40 used?) 'multi-sensory handwriting tablet' we are not using anymore that I would be happy to send you. PM me for details if you're interested. :001_smile:
