Danestress
I am not a ham person, or a pork person at all, really. But I bought a spiral cut Boars Head full cooked smoked ham. The instructions say to warm it in an oven at 325 for 15 minutes per pound. I was thinking it would be nice if I could just do it in a crock pot, since I am going to church and then serving lunch. My Ninja really cooks pretty quickly - even the low crock pot setting seems sort of higher to me than recipes ever intend, but I can't really guess at the temperature it's reaching. I don't have the kind of Ninja that bakes things, so it's just a slow cooker high/low or a stove top setting. Anyone have suggestions for what to do with this 3 1/2 pound ham? Ottakee
I am putting mine in on low while we are at church and then switching it to serve when we get home.
Alice
I would serve it cold or room temperature. They dry out pretty quickly so if your crockpot runs high it might be too much. I think it's much better at room temperature than warm and overcooked.
Chelli
I started doing my ham in the crockpot about two years ago and I'll never go back to the oven again. My dh says it is the best ham he's ever eaten. Rub with brown sugar, drizzle with pineapple juice, and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
