Liz CA
starts to freeze items on the refrigerator side - not the freezer, what could be going on? We have not changed thermostat settings in ages. The fridge has not been moved to different location, etc. I just want to hear someone say I don't have to look at spending $2000 on a new fridge in a month when the taxes are due... ETA: Fridge is about 9 years old. :crying:
icollectkids
Maybe throw everything you can in a cooler or something and defrost it? We just had a get a new fridge this past weekend. I feel your pain!
Sara in AZ
This has happened to me several times. It usually means the vents in the back of the freezer are blocked. Check out how full your freezer is and make sure the vents have space around them. I've had Sears out a couple of times to defrost and clear that out. I may just take everything out, defrost and make sure nothing blocks the vents. Hope springs eternal....
Alice
Ours has a drawer that has a "cold" setting and that vents air from the freezer to the fridge. You can close that vent but sometimes someone accidentally slides it open again and then things in that area start to freeze.
Miss Tick
Let's see, first he checked that the freezer drain was not plugged. Of course it wasn't that simple. In the end we had to replace the circuit that tells the freezer to defrost itself. It made sense to me when he explained it at the time, but it has been too long.
