Blossom'sGirl
I live in NY and have to test every other year for grades 3-8 and every year in high school. This year all 4 boys need to test and, at $40 each, the test price is going to take a big bite out of my homeschool budget. Is $40 a reasonable price or does anyone know of any specials? I know there are other tests, like the CAT, that cost less, but when I tried it years ago, it seemed almost too simplistic. I figure if I have to buy them I at least want one that is complete. Thanks Michelle
Chris in VA
I bought mine from BJU. I had to send in a copy of my college diploma, so I just took a digital picture of it and attached it to the email. I know there's a place in Front Royal VA but I'm not sure if they have the IOWA. IIRC, they have the CAT and are reasonably priced. ETA-Seton has it for 29 bucks.
ThatHomeschoolDad
Brewer Testing in Maryland. We've used them for years -- about $70ish for the ITBS, and you get a compete score breakdown in return. Their turnaround times are pretty decent, and you deal directly with the owners. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Blossom'sGirl
Thanks all. I just ordered from Seton and saved $44 over where I usually order from. I still hate paying so much for testing, but it is nice to know where my guys are at.
G5052
Good information. I didn't know that Seton had the Iowa. I was going to use the CAT-E, but for just a little more I can do the Iowa for core subjects and get a little more detail.
zoobie
We used Triangle Education Assessments last year and plan to use them again this year. The website says free shipping right now. I've gotten special emails during the year but haven't paid much attention TBH.
