raristy
Can anyone please recommend a good online class for Great Books or another good Literature/English class that is engaging, somewhat challenging and incorporates some writing? I'm looking for my upper middle school child who enjoys reading. Any that you and your child loved? Thanks a lot, Rosa
arcara
Center for Lit has one with an optional writing section. My 8th grader did only the discussion section this year and we have been happy with it.

Adam Andrews is very enthusiastic as well as kind. :) ETA: we also are interested in Classical Learning Resource Center http://www.clrchomeschool.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=featured&Itemid=132
Catfishcookin
Alexandria Tutorials! Simply excellent. My oldest son has taken Mr. Turnbulls classes for three years and my youngest son begins with Alexandria Tutorials this coming fall. Great literature reading with essay writing hand-in-hand.
Corraleno
Lukeion offers two year-long literature courses: Classical Mythology and Classical Literature. Definitely challenging, with lots of writing.

Julie of KY
My kids have enjoyed and learned a lot from Center for Lit. They have literature discussions with or without writing - we've never done the writing.
