liber
Did anyone here know that she died in Novemeber? It came up on my FB newsfeed today.
Onceuponatime
I didn't know. Her books on homeschooling were a staple when I started over 20 years ago.
Rebel Yell
I just found this today... http://www.mottmedia.com/pages/publications/ruthbeechick.html I started out "pure" WTM, but the daily details weren't a good fit for us. I used Ruth Beechick methods to do a WTM "schedule" (or yearly plan) and it was a tremendous benefit to us.
TeachingTwins
I didn't know, either. I've used some of her books, and really got some good information from them.
Kareni
I hadn't known. While our homeschooling has been WTM inspired, it was Ruth Beechick's book You Can Teach Your Child Successfully: Grades 4-8 that made me feel homeschooling was doable. Mothersweets
Oh, I hadn't heard until now. :( She had so much good information to share. I agree with Kareni, she made me feel like I could actually do it.
JenniferB
May her memory be eternal.
Negin
May her memory be eternal. Yes, she contributed so much. I read and re-read so many of her books when we started homeschooling more than ten years ago.
Lucy in Australia
I had no idea! :crying: I'm very grateful to her, too. I read her books before I found WTM. If it hadn't been for her, initially, I would have been too nervous to take my then 5 year old out of pre-primary (kindy in US, I think) Now, in retrospect, it seems laughable that I was so scared but she really gave me the confidence to believe I could do it.
