  1. I take it for another reason, but only take 5 mg/night (cut a 10mg one in half). It really does help with sleep and I haven't needed to increase the dosage because it was no longer effective. I've been taking it about a year. I haven't seen any weight increase because of it.
  2. I had the surgery about 4 years ago. It does work, but recovery for the first 10 days or so is very painful. Bowel movements were agonizing. I really had to take fiber, take Miralax, and Magnesium Calm to keep everything "loose". One tip, if you do this, is get a plastic ketchup bottle and fill with water. Squirt the water to help clean yourself after a BM because wiping is very painful. This was the best tip I got regarding recovery. Also, recently I am having some pain again, so not sure if it's a long term solution. I remember the surgeon telling me the surgery should last about 10 years. She didn't tell me this until after the surgery. Would I do it again? Probably, if it became really painful on a daily basis, but it will probably take a lot of pain to get me there. You may not want to hear this, but I thought recovery was worse than recovery from my C-section.
  3. My sister bought one of these for my parents who are in their 90's and it works great. They really enjoy it.
  4. I have this, and use it a lot. I like it, but you have to slam it down pretty hard to chop vegetables like carrots.
  5. Pediatrician's office did it for $50, including the earrings. No problems.
  6. No divorces in any generation of my family. My parents have been married 66 years and counting.
  7. If you're still in the area where your wedding ring was purchased, you might check with them to see if they would resize it for free. I remember that the jewelry store where we got my rings included a lifetime free service to resize the rings.
  8. Just thought I'd mention that we got our kids these tents a couple years ago. They put them up in October and leave them up through around March or April before it gets too hot. This is the third year they've used them, and they are holding up well. They love them!
  9. I loved the new one for some car or van (not sure which one) based on the original Vacation movie, and Christie Brinkley pulling up in the red sports car. It's really cool if you remember the original Vacation movie with Chevy Chase.
  10. We have a female guinea pig, about 2 years old, that had a lump on her back. It was just a cyst. The vet drained it, and it cost about $150. We also have another female guinea pig, about 2 years old, that had a mammary tumor. The vet did surgery on her, and it cost also cost about $150. It would have cost almost $100 more if we would have had it sent to a lab to see if it was cancerous. Our vet told us that there really wasn't much they could do if it was cancerous, and since the margins were clear, it was likely OK. So it didn't seem to make sense to have it tested. Hope your piggie is OK.
  11. Yum. I grew up in a small town in south central Nebraska, and loved Runzas. We usually eat them when we go back and visit.
  12. Ha! I can't tell you how many times I've had the exact same conversation with people. :confused1:
  13. My ds was sick all day yesterday. He laid on the couch like a zombie while we were opening presents, barely able to open his. Just as we were finishing, he vomited. Thankfully, I am always prepared and there was a bucket ready and waiting. I'm thankful we weren't wiping vomit off of presents. Yuck! He's up running around today like he wasn't even sick yesterday, so things are improving.
  14. I was pregnant at age 45 with twins. I agree that it's not just your age. I have no advice about what's going on. I was very tired and slept a lot more, but not at all close to the degree you are experiencing.
  15. I've been dealing with it for over 6 months. I'm a few years older than you. I was going to an oral surgeon because I was also dealing with TMJ. He prescribed an antidepressant, and said it would take about 3 weeks to start working. I took the antidepressant a couple of days and couldn't handle how it made me feel -- tired, zombie-like. Maybe it would have helped, but to me the side effects were worse than the pain. So, I quit taking it, and tried going to a homeopathic doctor since my research online said it might be hormonal. The pain went away for a couple months, but is back again. I'm trying the homeopathic doctor again, but haven't gotten any relief yet. It's very frustrating. Sucking on ice helps some with the pain. I also find I'm pain free in the morning, and it gets worse as the day progresses. It supposedly goes away eventually, but can last for months or years. Sigh. Just dealing with it.
  16. I feel your pain. I kicked the daily habit a couple years ago. I told my dh to not buy Diet Coke for me even if I asked. That worked for me since he does the grocery shopping. I do now allow myself an occasional diet drink when we go out to eat or when we're on vacation. Somehow it just helps me if I know I can have one once in awhile. I figure one or two a month on average isn't too bad, especially compared to the one or two a day I was drinking before I quit. I also do drink LaCroix carbonated water at home, and that helps. Good luck!
  17. I order from English Tea Store website. They have very reasonable prices, and I've been happy with all the teas I've ordered. I especially like their Monk's Blend and Lady Londonderry tea.
  18. It's fun for kids, but there are some games I didn't appreciate because there were cartoon type characters of women dressed pretty scantily. Just beware of this if you're conservative about this kind of thing.
  19. Vic's Cheese Popcorn (I can't buy it in the south, so can only get it when I visit family in the Midwest). It's a once a year treat!
  20. I get this one a lot, too, for my boy/girl twins. Someone actually argued with me about it one time after I told him that boy/girl twins can't be identical.
  21. Concierge --I can never remember how to pronounce it. One time when I was on a trip, my girl friends would try to get me to say this word, and then, of course, laugh at me when it came out wrong.
  22. Rocket Phonics -- impulse buy at a convention. It was confusing to me, so I didn't even try to teach with it. SOTW -- not for my kids who are visual learners. WWE -- again, not for my kids who are visual learners. Right Start A -- I loved the idea of using the abacus. My dc needed lots of worksheets to master the concepts. We switched to MUS, and have been very happy.
