LMA
My dd age 8 was accepted to the summer intensive program at the Rock School this summer (June into July). I am going to take her down for two weeks. Any suggestions about housing for two weeks? Either an inexpensive hotel near the school or furnished apartments? TIA. Catwoman
Will she be attending Rock Center or Rock West? The only short terms apartments I can think of near Rock Center are the Franklin Residences in Washington Square West. I'm sure there are others, too, but I'm not familiar with them. LMA
Rock Center. I was hoping to find a fairly inexpensive place with a kitchen/kitchenette. I'll check out what you are talking about. Thanks.

justasque
Have you considered applying to be a chaperone?
LMA
Have you considered applying to be a chaperone? I had seen that. Thank you for the link. I am not interested in staying in the dorms and the preference is for those who stay 5 weeks. We will be staying for just 2 weeks. My daughter will be done at 3:00 or so everyday and we want to explore the city afterwards or just relax. Thanks for your help.
justasque
You may find this yahoo group, for homeschoolers in Philly, helpful, both for finding local activities and for finding temporary housing. There is also a large yahoo group for nearby Delaware County, which might also be a good place to inquire, as some of the members live in or near Philly. ThatHomeschoolDad
We just stayed for 2 weeks in a Hyatt House near Cherry Hill, NJ and I took the PATCO high speed train into Philly. We had a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms plus free breakfast and dinner. There was also a Wole Foods down the street. Much cheaper than staying in the city. The SEPTA regional rail system is also good, so many communities around the city are possibilities.
