Desert Strawberry
Could someone link to the original thread? I'd like to read it but I wasn't around and don't know what to look for.
Farrar
I don't know about a thread, but the original idea comes from Brave Writer (though you don't have to be a BW user to adopt the idea). She has a post about how to make a good poetry tea time here: http://www.bravewriter.com/bwl/poetry-teatimes/ Also, on her blog, she routinely links poetry tea posts and pictures. Amy Jo
Do you mean this thread? http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/173293-interest-driven-education-and-real-tea-time/ I love bravewriter's article, and here's one on AO: http://www.amblesideonline.org/VirtuesofTea.shtml
Entropymama
I wasn't sure if that title was a double entendre. :) Maybe I've been reading the wrong threads...
freeindeed
We love our special poetry time. I drink hot tea. My children prefer hot chocolate or hot apple or cranapple cider. We also have special snacks sometimes during our artist and composer studies. It is so nice and relaxing.
Farrar
We often do lemonade with ours. And cookies. Always cookies.
jen3kids
When we did Bravewriter, poetry tea was our favourite activity. Even now we will occasionally bring out the poetry books and read during dinner. We almost always read nonsense/silly poetry from Shel Silverstein, Jack Prelutsky or Dennis Lee. Desert Strawberry
This sounds great! I am on it! We already have tea, but no poetry. Poetry tea will be a perfect fall addition.
