trulycrabby
Hello, first of all, let me tell you how un-arty I am! I "know" art, but I cannot create it, if that makes sense. And, I am completely, absolutely clueless about developing art curriculum for DS9. There is hope, however. My wonderful (truly) MIL is artistically inclined, and has stated that she wants to help with homeschooling. So, I thought she could do cursive and art. I've got cursive covered, but have absolutely no idea where to start looking for good art curriculum and projects. Any ideas or suggestions? :)
Aurelia
DD loves Meet the Masters. Other options are Artistic Pursuits or Drawing with Children.

knittingmama
We're really liking Home Art Studio. Although my 4th grader was a girl, my 2nd grader likes it, and he's a boy.
haleysmommom
I think I am going to do meet the masters with my 4th grade son this year. I really like the look of it.
Spryte
We did Home Art Studio for 3rd, and it was a big hit. We're doing Atelier Art for 4th, hoping for another big hit. I may pick up HAS for extra fun, just because I have an art loving kid, and he always asks for more. This book is excellent, and one of my favorite resources as well. Stuart
http://www.amazon.com/Discovering-Great-Artists-Hands-On-Children/dp/0935607099 Totally agree. There is one for American artists also. An artsy person could turn this into a great inexpensive study. I'm not artsy and we enjoy it.
Narrow Gate Academy
For elementary grades, I love the project ideas at www.artprojectsforkids.org. There is a good mix of drawing, pastel, watercolor, and a few painting ideas as well. Here's the list of projects for my upcoming 4th grader most of which are from the blog. Maela
scott foresman art books found used on Amazon. I bought the second grade one for this year. Dd has been enjoying going through it and picking out stuff she wants to try. She's already learned a few new terms. It's not an amazing book, but it's cheap and will do the job. I was going to shell out the money for Artistic Pursuits, which I think looks great, but then read a post by someone here recommending the SF books. Vida Winter
I teach elementary art at a local center. I get ideas from Pinterest -- much, much better than any curriculum I have used in the past.
readinmom
I agree with Pinterest as a great resource. Also, the Dick Blick site has some great tutorials on there. I wanted to do all of these for me!
